About Me

I am an assistant professor at Utah Valley University where I teach courses in marriage and relationships and human sexuality. I have a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and a doctoral degree in human development and family studies. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in Provo, Utah where I specialize in couples therapy and premarital counseling and education. I have received extensive training in couples therapy and I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I am also certified to teach and facilitate a number of relationship enhancement programs and I am a frequent presenter at community workshops on marriage enhancement, relationship development, and sexuality in marriage.

I have presented at local, national, and international professional research conferences as well as published in scholarly journals and books. I am currently the primary investigator in an extensive research project on marital sexuality.

I am married to my beautiful and supportive wife, Daria. We are the parents of four children. I love to read, attend the theater, play and watch sports, and spend time with my family.
